I think I have a feral (or at the least a semi-feral cat) but not sure..?
I adopted her recently from an owner that found her outdoors – I knew it was going to take time for her to re-adjust. I dont know much about her – but here’s the thing…..yes, she’s been hissing and growling but it wasnt until this morning (it’s very early right now in LA and it’s been raining heavily -) -so it’s raining and throughout the night and she kept running to the window and climbing on the screen. It wasnt until I was awakened by things on my desk falling that I realized what was happening. The first 3 times she woke me up, I figure it’s just her smelling the rain, hearing it, etc and probably remembering what she was use to. I didnt realize she was using my desk to jump on the screen – I was too sleepy to get up. I tried to return to sleep but then….she kept knocking over things and that’s when I finally saw her crawling up the screen/gnawing at it and this is not a small cat (5 months)- her claws were that sharp that she crawled almost to the ceiling (my window is fairly large length wise) and I was afraid she would tear the screen so I clapped my hands and she ran to the bathroom, but i kept the door open. After that, she came out three more times and jumped on the screen to climb all the way up – biting through. I finally clapped again (in total this was her making 7 atttempts to get on the screen). After she ran to the bathroom the final time, I closed the door because she seemed too determined to be out there in that rain (it was almost as though it made her wild)…I went to sleep and was awakened several hours later to meowing. When I went into the bathrooom….it was horrific. She shredded stuff, my shower curtain was torn, she knocked down all towels and those were dampened in certain areas (I think she must have spit on them because it wasnt urine – will cats spit on property?), even had a boo-boo on the floor (and yes, her litter is in the bathroom – I just adopted her about 2 weeks ago), she knocked over the trash can and jumped high enough that she turned on the light in the bathroom (how the heck she did that I dont know). Only reason I know this because when she ran to the bathroom the final time I closed the door it was about 2:30 (Three’s Company was on). This never happend before. It really seemed she was pissed at me that she could not get outside….please help and tell me what you think. I am actually scared of her now….her growls and hissing is more aggressive….and yes, I did not adopt her from a shelter but a private owner.

A submissive pit bull named Danny turn mean later?
Ok I have been working at this shelter with mii Ma and mii sis for half a year now. I found a dog named Danny the other their and he’s a pit bull. I love these dogs and have studied these breeds sense 5th grade. I have three dogs, one cat, and two bunnies. One of mii dog is a lil min pin/chihuahua mix and he has a bit of an attitude….and one of the other ones is named BAxter who has a bit of a dog agression problem and a people problem…..and mi other dog is jus a lazy outgoing dog. Baxter just has to git to know them….bhut anteewayz. The pit bull named Danny is a submissive dog that has been living at the shelter his whole lyf. He is 3 monthes old and he is gorgeous. I have been studying him and he is quite submissive too other dogs that give him problems…even small dogs. And with other dogs…he plays. Would he turn mean later? I read sumthing last nite that concerned meh…..I mean I don’t think it’s true….bhut still. I wanna beh safe before I bring him home.

From what you describe his temperament to be now, he should be just fine. Actually if you adopt him and his temperament changes, later on it will reflect on you, the owner and trainer. (lol) In addition, if he is a shelter puppy he will be neutered before they allow you to take him home and that is a plus for temperament. Any breed will turn mean if you make them that way

Make sure you enroll him in obedience classes and exercise him daily. But most important do not reign him higher than your other dogs you already have. Make sure you acknowledge the other dogs first, feed the other dogs first, pet the other dogs first. And so on. Otherwise, there will be jealousy and most likely fights between them.

Nope shouldn’t.

Most APBTs are loving and are suppose to be that way. If you teach them to attack and treat them bad or if they have a genetic issue they can be aggressive, but this goes for any breed.

A dog will never just "turn" one day with out warning sighs. If he is submissive and loving now he should be like that for the rest of this life. Just make sure he is fixed by 6 months.

If he submits now to other dogs that is awesome!. If so he will be fine. The pitbulls "going crazy" is all untrue. Its a theory thrown out there by the ANTI PITBULL communitys trying to ban them. My family has owned them for 60 years. Never a problem with "old age temper problems", They are amazing! *****’star dogs.

American Pit Bull Terriers have the potential to become dog aggressive as they mature.The aggression can range from not being tolerant of any dog to being dog selective.Dog selective is not liking certain other dogs for certain reasons or in certain situations.

Not all APBT’s will develop dog aggression.Keep in mind that there is the potential.Dog aggression does not lead to human aggression.Dog aggression can be managed but cannot be trained or loved out of the dog.

I can’t understand the details of your question, I’m sorry. If mii means yourself, it is spelled me…if you right click on the typing box and scroll down to spelling you can set your computer so that it has spell check.
A submissive dog can very easily become a fear biter. We rescued a black lab from someone who was mistreating it (a 40 year old woman holding her down on the ground until she stopped moving whenever she started wagging her tail.) The lab became a fear biter, she bit me, constantly snapped at our cats and attacked our older German shepherd mix. This was all before we got her spayed. (she is an excellent hunting dog so before we found out that she was a fear biter, my dad thought he might breed her someday, not my idea, it was his, and it was a bad one.) When we got her spayed, she seemed to mellow out a little more…but we are still very cautious with her, and I will never trust her.
However I would not suggest getting a pit bull, or any large possibly aggressive dog, if you have a small bossy dog. My dads GSD accidentally killed my dads pekingese. The little thing was biting the GSD and he decided he had enough. He gave it a warning bite and snapped his neck. The GSD also accidentally stepped on a kitten and squished it

Danny will be fine, he will probably get bullied around by the other dogs and will quickly learn his place in the house being that he is so young. Get him into training right away and keep doing research on what is best for Pits and then make sure you get him fixed. As long as you are willing to train and be knowledable on how to take care of your dog then he will fine. Learn how to teach him to get along with all animals, pit bulls are lovers, they will take care of any type of animal if you train them right. So make sure you are prepared to teach this dog, and do anything that you need to do to give him a safe home.

My dog wont stop peeing on my bed and the couch!!!!?
I am so frustrated. I crate train my dog she is about a year old. I got her from a vet who found her when she "wandered" up to her door. I think someone dropped her off because they couldn’t handle her. Anyways i crate train for about 4-5 hrs a day let her out right away and still she comes back inside and pees on the couch and bed not to mention a few other places she urinates frequent . I am tired of washing all of the blankets and comforters on my bed. Now my couch smells I don’t have money for the $100 spot bot vacuum I just use my dirt devil that does nothing for my life .. I bought a plastic cover to go on the bed under the sheets which stinks like vinyl even after I washed it..thank goodness for that at least it didn’t go through the mattress this time. I let her outback a lot throughout the day she rolls in the wet grass digs in the mud and eats sticks and pine cones and barks when she hears other dogs howling and barking…what am I dealing with..!!!! She is wearing me out…HELP ME PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great anwsers I felt so lost but I see all your points. I was taking her out in the beginning but it didnt seem to work and I thought she was just naughty but i guess dogs cant do things out of spite.. I work and cannot take her out every two hours my only option is to keep her in a room with pee pee pads all over the floor if I cannott crate for 4 hours . I will only be able to take her for a walk 3 times a day. Also she wont pee right away and its so cold outside! (in the beginning when i was trying to train by walks she would come right back in and pee anyways what to do ?)Also I live in a coldesac so I can only walk her back and forth passing maybe five homes before I have turn around. Its hard to walk her in the back yard its almost an acre and it has a lot of slopes and she like to go behind the brush..but nevertheless I will try walking her out front and see what that does.

Putting the dog in a crate for 4-5 hours and then letting her outside is neither crate training or house training. It’s just confinement. YOU have to house train her.
She’s coming back in and peeing because you haven’t taught her what you want her to do, which is eliminate outside.

House train your dog by taking her outside and staying with her until she obliges. Then immediately praise her. Take her out regularly and do the same thing every time. That’s the way to house train a dog. Once she learns what you want, then you can let her outside on her own.

The dog needs to go an actual walks. When you let her out she probably is so concerned with playing with sticks and such that she doesn’t use the bathroom. Walk her at least 3 times a day. Also, if the dog is peeing on furniture, she should not be allowed to go on them until it stops.

Have her checked for bladder infection. Do you crate her for 4-5 hours a day? If so, that’s probably what caused it. Google crate training. Dogs should only be crated two hours at most.

I would take the dog to the vet, my dog was going pee crazy in the house , which he never does.. he is house trained . he ended up having a bladder infection . He got a shot for it and is on meds for seven days.He is no longer peeing all over the house….yippee

Ok i crate train my 5 month old puppy and you have to give positive attention when she pees outside, like treats, praise, play with her toys. So that said if you mix a 1 part tide (powder form) 2 parts water spray it lightly over your couch, it will help with the smell and the dog wont want to pee there due to the smell of the detergent. DO NOT SPRAY WHILE DOG IS IN THE ROOM, let the mixture dry on your couch, then let your dog in.

When your first crate training your dog you need to let them out every 2 hours you cant leave them in the crate until they are completely potty trained. even then you shouldnt leave them in the crate for more then 5 hours.

The first thing you should do is keep her off the furniture. Whenever she tries to get up there, get her off right away and tell her "No" in a VERY stern voice. Also, it doesn’t sound like she’s really housebroken. Whenever you let her outside, you should stay out there with her while she does her business. Whenever she goes outside you need to praise, praise, praise her. Say "Good girl, pee pee outside" Get really excited with it. Keep repeating it whenever she goes and she will soon relate the word pee pee with outside. Whenever she has an accident anywhere in the house, you have to catch her in the act and say "No, or Bold or Bad" or whatever word you want to use, but say it in a very, very stern voice. Take her outside and say pee pee outside. If she finishes peeing outside praise her and say "Good girl, pee pee outside". If you keep doing this, she will catch on. She’ll see that going outside makes you happy and she will soon be an expert at it. This is the way I housebroke my dog and she was fully trained in about 17 days. She had an accident or two after that, but that’s it. Now she hasn’t had an accident in about 8 or 9 months and she just turned a year old. Be persistent with it, but also keep her off the furniture. I admire your passion in watching others and the amount of attention you put in…none of which relates to your question. I’ve seen this "Virtual Tourist" dvd in China. They have titles such as Hong Kong, Tianjin, Zhejiang, Yangtze, etc etc. It really bored me out because all you see are people moving, walking, looking at the camera, mountains, trees, grass, cars, bikes… and the background music made me sleepy. The narrator speaks very softly, with monotonous speed in Chinese, and subtitles also in Chinese. I think you would just be thrilled to see this. Hope you have a blast.

My boyfriend is over-involved w/his ex(w/whom he has children) and now his mother want her 2 spend the night.?
So this is a long and bizarre story.

I have known this guy for seventeen years an prior to our romantic involvement that started less than two years ago, I had no interest in him although he has always liked me.
We are in our thirties now. I have a 10 yr. old from a previous relationship. We have always been friends however had huge gaps in our correspondence because I had a child, he went away to college, worked nightshift and got married.
When we were 27(we are the same age) he got a seventeen yr. old girl pregnant and married her. It turned out to be a tumultous marriage. She physically abused him while he was in the military and living on base. She would hurt him and them call the police. She drank heavily, partied, cheated on him(even took out a loan for a lover putting up the family car for collateral). The biggest deal though was that she hid an entire pregnancy from him. They had already been married, had one child (who was 20 months old at siblings conception), and one abortion they both participated in. He was deployed part of the time. She didn’t even tell her identical twin or mother(with whom she is close) that she was pregnant even though she moved back home to live and work with him during part of the deployment. She sought no medical attention even though it was free. Her first baby had been born via emergency C-section. She told no one she was pregnancy and also did not seek alternative care. She also binge-drank vodka on several occasions. In fact she came back home w/him when she was seven and a half months, and attended a large party thrown by his parents for her older child, surrounded by multiple relatives and told nobody. Two months later he is in one of his training classes and is pulled out by a superior and told his wife is going into labor. He is not sure if this baby is his, she looks NOTHING like her sister but he raises her as his own.
She assumes he is involved with me one day(which he isn’t) and sends me multiple harassing and vulgar text messages.
Anyway, after the delivery, 14 months later he comes home for a three week leave on a fifteen month tour and she tells him she doesn’t love him anymore and wants a divorce. He is devastated but eventually relents. He and I are not involved at this point. She makes harassing phone calls to me. He asks her about it. She denies it.
They are now divorced. In 2008, they arranged a custody agreement for him to have the children five days a week. They come back from their mother’s home disheveled and often dirty. They look tacky(but she doesn’t), their hair is unbrushed and their nails overgrown with dirt underneath. This is amongst other neglectful behaviors.
His mother becomes very angry with the ex daughter in-law because she has taken them on weekends when he is in Iraq and witnesses their commonly unacceptable appearance and mannerisms. When son returns(after leaving military for good to be with his children), he and his mother have a huge falling out due to his renewed relationship w/his children now that he will no longer have to be away from them. His mother have previously hated his ex-wife due to the wife squandering thousands(of husband’s and mother-in-law’s money), hateful, disrespectful language from the ex-wife, and continued neglect of the children. His mother decided to have bad will against me because I was an emotionally supportive friend of his and as he spent more time with his children, she seemed to become angrier.
Well, I became pregnant. He and I now live together and have a child together. His ex-wife repeatedly calls her ex-husband for trivial matters even though she continues to neglect the children. She also repeatedly invited him for dinner. We reside in the old neighborhood in which I grew up. She invited him to go trick-or-treating with her(but didn’t invite me) and said to him she would love to go trick-or-treating in my neighborhood but didn’t want to run into me. He said nothing to her about this. She also has said disrespectful things about me to the children. He has said nothing about this. I have continually cared(meaning I take care of them)for her children by him in spite of the ugly way she has treated me. I have given them baths, have done their hair, dressed them, taken them to different activities, read to them. I don’t expect praise. I just know that all children need to feel loved. I also do not speak poorly about her to the children. It is clear she is emotionally unstable though.
The year where his mother stopped speaking to him, she then decided to like his ex-wife again.
I now have a baby with him(I know). I decided to let bygones be bygones and let her meet her grandchild. His mother trivializes the abuse the wife has enacted against her son and overlooks the neglect she enacts towards the grandchildren.

Blending a family is an investment, right? I have my problems with this guy(who I am planning on leaving). We have are own problems. However if he was hitting her, it would not be trivialized as just a "flaw". When CPS, was called on her, the case was closed. People don’t like to think of women as abusers. I can see, as an abuse vitime, he appears to be relating to her the same way as in marriage-as a vitime-walking on eggshells. However I think he sends her mixed messages and he thinks he doesn’t. He spent Thanksgiving in her family’s home, he attended a birthday party with her, went to his child’s school event with her. I understand, that it is important to get along for the sake of the children, but she uses the children to have a relationship with her. She gets irritated that he doesn’t spend more time with her. I mean she uses the children to have a relationship with him. He doesn’t see it as inappropriate to text her at an odd hour or talk to her late at night, unrelated to the children. Also, he said when it comes to his mother offering her to spend the night, it is "none" of his business even though his Mom told him to tell it to her. Also, less than 1% of women conceal pregnancies to that degree, so it would appear to be more than just simply a "flaw".

well, you knew what you were getting into since you have been around for 17 years…. so you have to put up with it unfortunately. You cant change his mother and you cant change his ex. You are a little angel for loving his children, taking care of them the way you do …. bless your heart… they are so innocent in all this garbage… they didnt ask to be brought into this crap…. and it sounds like the poor things have a horrible mother so you are doing right by them by showing some normalcy…. kudos to you! just keep doing what your doing, those kids will eventually see the truth and probably ask not to go on weekend visits anymore….. they arent stupid..kids are smart… we dont give them enough credit.. they are little sponges seeking information as they grow.

Just focus on your family… your husband, your baby, his children and forget the rest… who cares is the ex goes trick or treating on your street…she looks like the idiot… not you… who cares if his mother befriends her…. all that matters is that things in your house are okay… think of it as your little paradise that you control……

WOW That’s a lot of Drama….Your husband needs to get custody of his other children it sounds like,IF he doesn’t want to do that He needs to put his foot down and tell her the only thing they should be communicating about is about the kids no going to dinner together being that they are not together any more and that he has moved on with his life with you and his mother should be ashamed of herself for sticking with the ex for the way she had treated her Son and her Grand kids Sounds like your the only adult in the situation Keep doing what your doing and Don’t worry about what they are thinking cause atleast you know you can lay your head down at night with no guilty thoughts

If your boyfriend knows his children are neglected, why doesn’t he try to get custody of them? If he won’t, why would you have a kid with him?

It’s disturbing that you are so intensely invested in all this woman’s flaws, but you don’t seem to have a handle on the fact that your boyfriend is so much more at fault. He’s not an alcoholic, be doesn’t have a screw loose, yet he consciously allows his kids to be neglected/ abused. And because he’s such a stellar father, you presented him with another child.

I don’t think you deserve kudos, I think you need to have your head examined.
